30 by 30 update and a little positivity

i feel the need to write something here to move that last post down. holy debbie downer! also, accountability.

i blame aunt flow. or, well, the mood changes that occur prior to her visit. i also blame her for never having weighed myself for the start of 30 by 30. however, the last two weeks have gone well for the most part. i have no idea if any weight loss has happened but i feel thinner. my pants are fitting a little better and my tummy feels flatter. not much, but enough for me to notice.

i want to start running. i’ve always hated running. like, for real hated running. especially when it’s ridiculously hot out. and lately, it’s been ridiculously hot out. that heat wave seems to be dying down a bit so i want to start getting out more. heat wave or not, i’ve still been playing softball at least 4 days a week and my personal life has made me walk a lot lately.

on saturday night, J and i went to the pirate game but we parked downtown rather right next to the stadium and walked across the river and back. also, rather than getting something really extremely unhealthy for me, i just got a hot dog and ate a few of J’s nachos. i know, still not the best thing in the world but considering the alternatives at a baseball park? not the worst either. and it was HOT that night. i was probably a calorie burning machine just sitting there! this heat wave has been killer.

which is why a bought a kiddie pool. more specifically, it’s called a “party pool”. it has cup holders so it can’t be just for kids, right? i need to cool down and get some sun. i’m finding out recently that my body does not handle heat well. i can’t sit outside and bake like a lot of people do and i need sun. bad. july is almost over and i am PALE. so when i wasn’t out running around playing softball and going to various places around town this weekend, i was in my pool. and i actually got some sun that will last longer than my spray tans do. and it’s free! YAY!

speaking of free, i got free tickets to the U2 concert last night! cross that one off of the life list! i had really wanted to go when i heard they were going to be in town but i couldn’t fathom spending $200 on tickets. then a friend of mine posted on facebook that she had two free tickets and i got them! parking downtown was a mad house. the plan was to park in a garage close to the river and walk across to the stadium but everything close to the river was full. J and i ended up having to walk close to two miles to and from the stadium and then who knows how far up the ramps to our seats. so i can’t say i didn’t get any exercise in last night!

all in all, things seem to be going well. i’m thinking positively and watching what i eat and getting as much exercise in as i can. maybe i’ll see what the scale says tonight…
